Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the National Tourism Organization (NTO), more than 44,000 tourists were staying in Montenegro on 20 May, which is 27 percent more compared to the same period last year.
The NTO said in a press release that these unofficial data from local tourism organizations are additionally encouraging.
The total number of tourists was also 32 percent higher compared to the same period in 2019.
The NTO stated that, according to the latest report by the European Travel Commission (ETC), Montenegro ranked first in April among the best-rated European destinations in terms of reputation and visitor satisfaction, with a score of 9.22 out of 10.
“This result reflects a significant improvement in the quality of Montenegro’s tourism products, as well as the trust our guests have in the destination,” the press release reads.
The positive trends are also recorded in official data from the Statistical Office Monstat, according to which more than 83,000 tourists visited Montenegro during March, two percent more compared to the same period last year.
The guest structure is dominated by tourists from regional markets, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, while significant growth was also recorded from distant markets such as the United States and China.
