11 percent of local TV stations’ programs focus on local topics

Podgorica, (MINA) – More than a thousand programs focused on local topics were broadcast over the course of one week on six local public television stations, which is about 11 percent of their total programing, the Agency for Audiovisual Media Services (AMU) has announced.
AMU stated that these are some of the key findings of the Analysis on the representation of local topics in the programs of local public broadcasters.
“Slightly more than one in ten broadcast programs covered local topics, with TV Niksic airing most of such content, almost a third of the total”, the AMU stated.
The Agency noted that, on the other hand, Gradska Television had the smallest share with only ten percent.
According to them, the analysis was done by monitoring the programs of six stations - TV Niksic, TV Pljevlja, TV Budva, TV Rozaje, TV Herceg Novi and Gradska TV – during the period from December 4 to 10 last year.
The Agency stated that the largest portion of aired program was devoted to social issues, totaling 33 hours of programming, while about 16 hours of programs were dedicated to local politics were broadcast, and approximately 15 hours to cultural programs.
